Clues You Might Live to 100, Auntie!

Clues You Might Live to 100, Auntie!

by Veronica Spettmann

Are you an Auntie that has had or is waiting to have a child after age 35? You’re not alone. In fact 14 percent of first time moms are age 35 or older.

The interesting news around that is that studies show that if you conceive and bear children naturally later in life, you are more likely to live to be 100 years old.

So waiting for the right guy (or gal), deciding to have a baby later, or deciding to have a baby on your after 35 may be to your advantage.

In a recent article on Yahoo! Health, called “10 Surprising Clues You’ll Live to 100,” the fifth clue cited the ability to bear children past 35 and 40.  According the the article, these women are four times more likely to live to 100 than women who can’t conceive later in life.  It goes on to explain that it is not the act of bearing the child itself that extends a woman’s life span.  Rather, the ability to bear children at that age is an indicator that a woman’s reproductive organs are aging slowly.  The rest of the body is therefore likely to follow suit.

This clue immediately followed another clue that automatically favored Aunties. Women in general are more likely to live to be centenarians than men, though science still hasn’t been able to prove exactly why that is.
