More Disney 3D for Nieces and Nephews!
by Veronica Spettmann
Did you take your nieces and nephews to see The Lion King 3D
recently, Auntie? If so, it was probably their first time seeing that
film on the big screen but it certainly won’t be their last time seeing a
Disney classic in 3D at a movie theater. Following the $80+ million
success of the re-release of The Lion King, Disney has officially announced four other upcoming Disney 3D debuts for 2012 and 2013.
The first of these films will be Beauty and the Beast,
which will open in 3D theaters January 13, 2012. This classic was
originally released in 1991 and is the story of Disney Princess Belle,
who must learn that true beauty comes from within. This will be
followed by Pixar favorite Finding Nemo. Originally released in 2003, Finding Nemo
follows the story of a clown-fish named Marlin who sets out to find his
son, and gains life-changing stories and friends along the way. Aunties
can expect to be able to take nieces and nephews to see it again on
September 14, 2012.
On January 18, 2013, Aunties can again don their 3D glasses and take their nieces and nephews to see Monsters, Inc. which celebrates the 10-year anniversary of its original release this year. Monsters, Inc.
is the story of two monsters who must return a little girl, Boo, to her
home. The final announced re-release is of one Disney’s most celebrated
animated films of all time: Academy Award-winning, The Little Mermaid (1989). The Little Mermaid
is the story of Ariel, who must save her father’s kingdom from the
sea-witch, Ursula. This will open in theaters on September 13, 2013.
Aunties
everywhere will have no trouble recalling these timeless childhood
wonders to memory. There is hardly a better way to bond with nieces and
nephews than to share your wonder with them, but with the added
excitement of three dimensions.
